My April-May

South Korea

 Annyeonghaseyo.

So this was my second time in Korea, but it felt like the first. I went once when I was in standard 6 for a school trip. I can't remember much and I must have not enjoyed it as much since I didn't really think much of the trip. But this time when I was about to leave for Korea my excitement level was on maximum. No denying that the Hallyu wave is slowly making Korea one hell of a popular country. I was so excited cause I was going to visit the country where all the people I fangirl about on a daily basis live! I wish I could've stayed longer. Still so many places I want to visit and things I want to see.. Who knows maybe I'll come back for a third trip soon! :)

I went to Korea with high expectations and greed to get to know the people and the culture. And in just 6 days I was able to learn a lot about how the country is. I want to share my personal thoughts on the country but I think it's better if you went there and experienced it yourself. One thing I'm sure of is that Korea really is filled with beautiful girls and good looking guys. I could die of insecureness there.. yes, most of the girls had plastic surgery, but because of that most of them are really pretty! The guys don't really look like Kpop idols. Kpop idols are more unique and feminine looking. The average Korean man is more masculine and typical looking ((still very VERY cute though)). Oh and not to forget Korea is filled with couples. They are everywhere!! PDA is a big thing over there. The couples aren't tiring to look at though, they know their limits and they're really loving. That was nice to see :)

Highlight of the trip : I GOT TO SEE GOT7. It all still feels like a dream.. a wonderful dream.. On one of the days we were in Korea, we decided to go visit some of the company buildings to just try our luck. I really didn't think we'd get to see anyone but WE GOT TO MEET MY ULTIMATE FAVOURITE GROUP. I really couldn't get any luckier!! From expecting to see no one to being able to meet Jackson (my ultimate bias). Korea you are winning!!

February Wishlist

#1 White Sneakers 

They seem to be really in trend lately and I think they are absolutely beautiful! Simple yet trendy. They're going to be quite hard to maintain as white shoes get dirty VERY easily but they're definitely worth the effort.

#2 Black Backpack

I'm really in need of a backpack to travel with. All my backpacks are worn out so I need to get a new one soon. One of the hardest things to find in stores are backpacks for some reason. Malaysia needs to sell more backpacks!

#3 Black Sandals

Once again I don't know what you call these sandals, I'm pretty sure there's a specific name for them but I can't seem to find it's name. I REALLY really want these sandals, like really!! If you happen to know where I can get anything similar please tell me!

#4 Baseball Jersey

Don't really have an explanation to why I want this but I really do. I've been seeing people sport them lately and I like it :)

#5 Purple Lipstick

I've always been quite the fan of purple lipstick but I have yet to find one that I really love. I'm on the look out though. Purple lipsticks give you a slightly gothic/ dark look but they're really pretty and nice to wear especially in winter. Here in Malaysia we don't have winters (I'm aware of this) but I tend to go to holidays when it's winter a lot so it's a need for me!

Konnichiwa

First post of 2015. May 2015 bring nothing but blessings all year round. Since I've been MIA for the last 5 months I thought I'd fill this year's first post with a couple of my favourite pics from Dec'14 to Jan '15. Enjoy ^^

My favourite part of Japan was for sure Universal Studios. I shall never forget you, backdrop roller coaster. 

Now that I'm back in Msia I've realised how much I like Japan. Definitely forcing my family to take me there again soon. Miss you Yuta!

Short update:

Yes guys, I have the Kpop fever. And I have it BAD. 2015 has been alright, so far. It seems like it's going to be a busy year ahead but I'm excited cause it's my senior year, everybody! Everyone keeps telling me to make the best of this year so hopefully it will be a memorable one. I've been getting lazier though. It's like all my rajin-ess decided to go away along with 2014. Oh and I'm extremely excited for next month, you'll know why soon!!!

Sun in September

The holidays has honestly been great! I was either out or watching my favourite tv shows, so I was pretty much living the dream. Can't believe it's Friday, I really do not want to go back to school. Dreading it right now even though I still have 2 days until Monday. Can't believe some of my friends are actually missing school.. What has gotten into you! Hm missing the days where I enjoyed school too (a.k.a never). Didn't get many pictures, plus I only liked the pictures that we took today. So here was today..

Self Express

   How great is it that many of my friends have blogs? One by one I am discovering that so many people have blogs too. I am one of the late joiners to the blogging community but it was one hell of a great decision! I honestly enjoy all of the time I put in, to write a new post (most of the time, at least). It kind of motivates me. Whenever I do something exciting, I would think to myself "make sure you take pictures for your blog", even though most of the pictures I take don't get the opportunity to get uploaded here. 

   I hope that this is something that will stay with me forever. By saying that, it probably won't. But who knows maybe blogging will stick with me? Hah, I think I found a new hobby. At last I now have a hobby that I actually do enjoy. I'd usually answer 'reading' when someone asks me what's my hobby. I do enjoy reading, but it's like I'm lying to myself. Because I wouldn't call reading a hobby of mine. I read according to seasons. Not weather seasons but mood seasons. There are seasons where I read so many books I amaze myself and there are seasons where I just can't get myself to pick up something to read. So there you have it guys, my hobby: blogging. I'd imagine being a writer as something really fun. But that is definitely not on my ambition's list because writing is not one of my strong points. So envious of people who can write well!! :(

   Like I said in one of my early posts, I think blogging is something everyone should do. Most people's excuse for not having a blog is: not having anything to write about. I have NOTHING to write about too but I just talk about unimportant stuff that most people probably wouldn't care about; just for the fun of it! You don't get to write long paragraphs full of nonsense everywhere.. So to all the people I love out there, make a blog because I would love to read it.

So this tag has been going around Instagram and I kind of want to do it. Even though I don't have Instagram nor was I tagged by anyone, I'm still going to write 20 facts about me here.

1. My full name is Nur Allyssa binti Rizal Ibrahim.
2. I was born on the 2nd of April and for some reason I really like my birth date.
3. I am a sucker for sappy love movies/ romance novels.
4. I like crying, it makes me feel content.
5. I get very attached to tv series' and my all time favourite is Gossip Girl. I sometimes believe I live and breathe to watch it.
6. My mum and my laptop are my best friends. I love them both to death.
7. I'm always wishing I was someone better and different but I am too lazy to change myself.
8. I hate shopping for shoes. I wear almost the same pair all the time because it is so hard for me to find a pair that I like.
9. I am very, very indecisive. It is always so hard for me to make up my mind, as I think about everything. Literally.
10. I'm disloyal to my celebrity crushes.
11. I love shopping. It brings me much more joy than most things do.

August Wishlist

This is going to be a pretty long list because suddenly I want so many things.

#1 Lorac Pro Palette 

I've been eyeing this palette for a while but I still don't have my hands on it. I read somewhere that they have it in  Malaysia but when I went to Sephora, with high hopes, the lady working there didn't even know of the brand Lorac. The palette isn't new, it's been around for a couple of years so I'm disappointed that Sephora doesn't bring it in to Malaysia, well to the Sephora I always go to at least.

#2 Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser

It is said to be a dupe to the ever so popular Benefit POREfessional. I wasn't that interested in this when I first heard about it because I didn't really get what it was for. I didn't really understand what pores were and why they mattered so much but now that I do, it's on top of my wish list!

#3 Lush Big Shampoo

I am in need of a good shampoo. The shampoo I am currently using makes my hair flat and I cannot wait to finish it off and get a better shampoo. 

#4 Lush Cupcake Face Mask

I've watched a handful of YouTubers talk about this face mask. It is really high on demand, hence it is rarely available in their stores. Even it's name makes me want to try it, CUPCAAAAKE!

#5 Beauty Blender (in pink)

This sponge supposedly does a very very good job at blending your foundation or other creams. I don't use foundation but I sure am curious on how it works.

#6 Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette

It's a small easy to carry around palette with very basic colours for everyday use. Seems like a good palette to have around at all times.

#7 IT by Alexa Chung

I've recently fallen in love with her so what better way to show my love for her than getting her book?

#8 MAC Cremestick Liner 

I want this in the shade Buerre. Saw a YouTuber use it in a tutorial on how to get Kylie Jenner's look.  I instantly fell in love with the colour. Not sure how it's gonna look on my skin but it looked gorgeous on her lips. 

Color Run

SO. MUCH. FUN <3

Ah, finally got the fun I've been needing in a long time! At the last minute, my aunty asked me to join her for the Color Run and I said yes because why would I say no? When I first found out about the Color Run, I asked the City Hunter gang to go with me but they didn't want to. So I was more than happy when my aunty wanted to bring me.

The run started at 7. There were so many people, so we ended up only getting to start the run at 8 as we were the fifth batch they released for the run. If I'm not mistaken, after every kilometre, they would throw us with different colours. After the first kilometre, we were sprayed with ORANGE powder. Next was YELLOW, BLUE, PINK and GREEN+ a bit of PURPLE, in that order. In total we had to run 5 km, which isn't that bad when you're having fun. I ended up looking not very human by the end of the run!

I felt so colourful. It was great.

Obsess Less

I need to find something new to obsess over. I'm constantly jumping from liking this to liking that and right now I feel so lost without something to obsess about. I keep myself occupied and less lonely by getting myself too into unnecessary things. Reasons why I am out of things to obsess about :

1. For a while, not very long ago, I was crazy over make up. I didn't wear much but I certainly enjoyed watching people do tutorials and gushing over pretty palettes but recently I had this realisation that I want to cut down on the make up I wear. I still do wear eye liner and lip colours but I'm trying to tone down my obsession because I have many years to obsess over make up so I should keep it more to the natural side for now. 

2. The television series I love have either reached their finale or stopped production. I honestly do not understand why many of the shows that I liked these past few years keep on getting cancelled. I am 90% sure most girls my age like them too but I guess only being able to attract a couple of teenage female fans isn't enough to stay in the television business.

3. No current celebrity crush. Being "unfaithful to celebrity crushes Allyssa" I have maybe (just a little) gotten over my Austin Butler phase. I do still find him very.. very.. attractive but without Carrie Diaries anymore it's so hard to see him anywhere. He isn't those -post everything on social media- kind so it is really hard to keep updated with him. That's the thing about liking actors, they usually don't get that involved with their fans and you don't have the slightest chance to see them. So I suggest you find a musician to like because it would be much easier. I do have this new actor to check out though, thanks to Yasmin!

4. I feel so not girly this month. I haven't thought about shopping for weeks and I actually feel lazy to think about clothes and handbags and all things fashion. What am I turning into? My life is already uninteresting as it is. It is getting even more uninteresting by the minute. However I am excited to go get Shaza and Yasmin their birthday presents. I still have NO idea what to get them but it is both exciting and stressful getting gifts for people.

Alhamdulillah that I have novels and my laptop to accompany me at boring times. 

Sorry for the having too many words in my post guys. I am just those kinds of people who like writing long paragraphs and feel incomplete if my posts say too little! Happy August <3

End of Ramadhan

      Two more days of puasa and then goodbye Ramadhan 2014. I hope many of you have made the best of this holy month but sad for me, I didn't do much.. But enough about the past, time to think about the future. Raya in 2 days! I'm usually not excited for Raya but I'm excited to just sit and eat all day. Spending my raya in Alor Setar, Kedah this year. It is for sure going to be much more festive than last year's Raya. Last year was our first Raya spent in KL and it was so lonely and boring, it hardly even felt like Raya. So many things I look forward to for Raya. Firstly, duit raya. More money who wouldn't want that right? Let's face it guys we live in a world where money and looks are everything.

      I also cannot wait to see everyone's Raya pictures. Sounds stalker- isn but it really is exciting seeing people post their Raya celebrations and what they're wearing and what they're eating and seeing family portraits. So entertaining seeing everyone all primped up for Raya. Plus any chance of getting a break from school is great. I will accept all the holidays I can get because seriously guys what is better than not having to go to school. Selamat Early Hari Raya! Praying that I will get good pictures this year so I can share them here!

Soap & Glory

It was love at first sight. Soap & Glory caught my attention because of their adorable packaging. Putting aside the fact that Soap & Glory has pretty packaging, I do like their products because of their quality and nice scents. Every time I enter Sephora it is a must for me to check out the Soap & Glory section. They don't have that wide of a range of products here in Malaysia. But then again even when I checked out the Soap & Glory section in Boots, they had very limited products as well. I'm not sure if they have their own stores but I haven't found/ heard of one yet. However they do produce makeup products but those aren't available here in Malaysia.

I don't have that many products from Soap & Glory but I thought I'd tell you a bit about the products that I own/owned.

1. For Daily Youth Face Wash

I am currently using the one on your right, the yellow/ orange one. I used the blue one before and in my opinion there is not much difference between the two. I think there is supposed to be a difference but I can't quite figure out what it is besides that the yellow one is supposed to have a peach scent. I really like this face wash because I like the little mini balls that act as exfoliators (well at least I think that is what it's for). I'm not quite sure how much cleaning they do towards your face but I do recommend this product.

2. Sugar Crush Body Wash

When I first bought this I really liked the smell. I don't quite remember exactly how it smells like but it is kind of citrusy, fresh and sweet. After using this for a long time I kind of got bored of the smell so I decided not to repurchase it. Zoella has it though so yay guys I had the same body wash as her (creep ^^)

3. Hand Food

I don't have much to say, it's hand cream so if you need a good hand cream.. ya you should get it.

4. Clean On Me

I just got this body wash today so I can't really say much. It smells like perfume and has a lovely rosy scent. It also says that it has built- in body lotion, so it will leave your body feeling soft and clean. I have a good feeling about this one!

5. The Greatest Scrub of All

This a facial exfoliator. I'm sorry there's not picture of it I can't seem to find it in their website. I was not very happy by this product to be honest. I don't think it does a very good job at exfoliating  and I tend to have to squeeze out a lot of the product for it to work on my skin even though it recommends you to only apply a pea-sized splodge. 

6. Lid Stuff

 This is the only makeup product I have from Soap & Glory. Most of the time I only use the lightest colour, the first eyeshadow in the palette. They are not that pigmented but I'm fine with how it is. It is a neutral toned palette so I wasn't really expecting it to be that pigmented. I like that it's small and light and easy to carry around in my handbag. 

The Fault In Our Stars

Mhm I have finally watched The Fault In Our Stars after what felt like forever! Hehe and yes I did enjoy it. I am not a H U G E fan of the book. I thought it was good, but it wasn't one of my favourites. However I did get pretty excited when they decided to make it into a movie. Another sad love story to watch and dwell on? Who wouldn't want that? (not being sarcastic guys, I actually really really like sad movies)

As expected, the movie made me cry buckets. And to my surprise, my mum cried too! It isn't often to see my mum cry so if my mum can cry watching that movie, you probably will too. I honestly enjoyed the movie more than the book. I cannot wait until Looking for Alaska and Paper Towns comes out as movies. Those two are my favourite John Green books so I am going to be double as excited as I was for TFIOS. Praying that the cast will be great, they have to choose the perfect Alaska and Margo. They just have to.

June Favourites

June is over and I thought I'd share a couple of things I was loving in June!

1. Pointy- Toe Flats

So I got a pair of simple dark blue pointed flats in Cotton On not long ago and I am in love. There is really nothing special about the shoes but they are definitely my new go to shoes! They are also super affordable (RM 50). Cheap and comfortable, what more could I ask for..

2. Dark Lip Colours

I was so in love with dark shades for my lips. I was either putting on this dark shade of purple/ pink lip colour or wearing my red lipstick. I felt so nude wearing lighter colours somehow. 

3. Greek

During the school holidays I used my time wisely by finishing 4 seasons of Greek on Netflix. I was OBSESSED. I'm gonna go ahead and spoil the ending for all of you. In my defence, the series ended a couple of years ago so you should already know the ending. Anyway, Cappie and Cassie ended up together so that was amazing. Finally a series where the two people I like end up together.

4. Tumblr

I stopped Tumblr- ing for a while but I'm back. Started loving Tumblr again this month because I needed something to entertain me during boring days. 

5. Songs

Ramadhan

Can you believe it.. It's Ramadhan already. I still get shocked every time we get into a new month this year. Almost every single month I'll go all 'It's *insert month* already?!' I get kind of sad thinking of how time flies. I feel like I'm in this hour glass and I can't get out. Just have to keep moving before I get buried in the sand. Okay, maybe I'm exaggerating. I waste so much time, maybe that's why I feel that way. I always tell myself to appreciate everyday. I try thinking about how I will never relive that particular day again. Doesn't it amaze you? How you'll never be able to go back to a certain day. This might sound a little confusing, but once you get what I'm trying to say.. it is horrifying.

Ramadhan is a special month and I intend to try my very best to be a better version of myself this month. Not saying that you should only change for the better during this period of time only, but take this month as a start to a new you. During this holy month, iblis and syaitan are tied up so every bad thing you do, is your doing.

I've been feeling down lately. Not sure if it is because I'm on my period or is it just because of how tiring and agonizing my days have been. Not in the greatest mood right now but I hope things will get better soon. Don't want to go through Ramadhan with such a negative vibe. Oh and not to forget, if anyone I know is reading this, I'd like to apologize for my wrong doings towards you. I'm sorry if I have ever hurt your feelings or done something not very nice to you. Hope you find it in your heart to forgive me. Have a blessed month. May Allah bless you always!

Asian

Being an asian myself, I decided that I wanted to write a post about my 2 favourite Asians on the internet, Jenn Im and Michelle Phan. I discovered these 2 asian beauties last year and have been adoring them ever since! 

First of, Jenn Im. She's known as clothesencounters on YouTube. Not only is she super adorable but she also has a great voice. No, she doesn't sing. Well not that I know of, but I really like listening to her voice. It's a little rusty and deep, so opposite from her looks. She's Korean if I'm not mistaken but she was born and raised in the US.  Jenn has a really unique style. She's very chic and a little to the hipster side. My favourite thing about Jenn has to be her hair! She totally rocks the shoulder length hair cut.

Next, Michelle Phan. I don't think I need to say much, I'm pretty sure almost all girls (the ones who go on YouTube at least) know who she is. Michelle is truly an inspiration. She is THE beauty guru. She gives out great tips and does amazing tutorials. The most amazing thing about Michelle is her life story. She had a rough past but look at her now. She's so well- known and filthy rich.

Friday the 13th

Happy Friday, guys! 2 more days until school starts. You have no idea how upset I am. The last thing I need right now is school. School has just been getting worse lately. Counting the days till I can leave that place, but I have another 1 and a half years. The holidays have been pretty good though. Who am I kidding, they have been great.

I'm kind of in a dilemma right now. I can't decide whether I should watch The Fault in Our Stars or not. Thing is, the movie has been released in the US but for some reason Malaysia is only playing it in the cinemas in early July. WHY MALAYSIA?! Last night, some people said the movie was leaked on Megashare so I went to check it out. I was so ready to watch it but then the movie was in such bad quality. It was someone's recording in the cinema. I don't want to watch a good movie in such bad quality.. but I really cannot wait to watch it. Do you see my problem?

In case you guys didn't know, I'm a sucker for sad movies. I love sad movies, especially those that make me cry. I find a movie worth watching if it made me tear up or made me happy after watching it. And The Fault in Our Stars is definitely going to make me cry, no doubt about that. I haven't watched a sad movie in a while and I feel like I need to feed my soul with a good sad movie. Such a sad and demanding soul I have there.

Talking about sad movies, you have to watch The Notebook and A Walk to Remember. I'm sure most people have watched it but just incase you haven't, please do! They made me cry buckets because they were so sad. And if you haven't read Eleanor and Park, you are totally missing out. It's a great book and it would be such a waste if you didn't read it.
